Afternoon Event

Join Place Collective UK for an afternoon walking tour through the heart of Bristol’s evolving city centre. Explore how culture, creativity & community are reshaping public space.

Starting at the beautifully restored & reimagined Bristol Beacon, the route takes in key locations, including the site of Colston’s fallen statue, Oshii’s ‘Our Common Ground’, a shopping centre on the cusp of major change & Haworth Tompkins’ Bristol Old Vic, before culminating at Design West on the harbourside.

We’ll hear from urban designers, artists, developers & planners, as we discover the evolving role of arts & culture in the public realm & how the city is harnessing the regenerative power of art, whilst amplifying a greater diversity of stories in the making of place.

The Afternoon Event Runs 2 pm – 4.30 pm. Meeting Point, The Bristol Loaf, Bristol Beacon, BS1 5AR.
The Evening Event Runs 6.30 pm – 8 pm followed by Drinks at Design West.

Evening Event

Stay into the evening, for ‘Art in the City’ a panel discussion at Arnolfini (6.30 pm – 8 pm), that expands the discussion to a national context. Followed by VIP drinks next door at The Architect, Design West.  This section of the day must be booked separately. Book your tickets for the talk here.
