Did you know that there’s a Roman Villa on our doorstep?

You’ll find it in the award-winning landscaped gardens of Somerset’s hidden treasure, The Newt. Lauded as the future of tourism the Newt takes a new approach to placemaking combining restaurant, hotel and splendid gardens alongside an expansive and ambitious reimagining of a Romano-British villa.

The Villa, inspired by the unearthing of a settlement on the estate, dating back to 351AD sits alongside an innovative and interactive visitor centre. Both buildings are the work of Stonewood Design who also designed Story of Gardening at the Newt.
